Ran away from this platform to “protect my head” but I’m back now with more grit for trouble. Lol. #NewProfilePic

My poetry manuscript, All I Know About a Heavy Heart Is How to Carry It, has been selected by Jaki Shelton Green as winner of the New Voices Award (Jacar Press) and will be published in 2025. Immensely grateful to Jaki, Richard Krawiec and everyone at @jacarpress.

Y'all!!!! I made it through the Sprinng fellowship. Tbh, it was tough to do this pretty thing while writing exams. I am most grateful to my mentor @IheomaUzomba for being everything I needed. The excitement of learning from her never subsides in my belly.😂 Thank you @SprinngLM.

It’s refreshing to see the depth of fatherhood revealed through Nosike and his father in this book. Understanding this character and the experiences that shape him is truly enlightening. I couldn't help but smile as I realized how much Nosike’s father reminded me of my own.

The gust of emotions in my belly is quite frankly unparalleled. The last time I felt this way was after finishing Leila Aboulela’s “River Spirit” early in 2024 and Jhumpa Lahiri’s “Interpreter of Maladies” sometime in 2021.

It’s 1:26am and I just finished reading Chiedoziem’s @ChukwuderaEdozi “Loss is an Aftertaste of Memories”. Beyond masterful storytelling, Chiedoziem is such an empathetic writer and by this I mean the depth of the work stays with you long after you’ve flipped through its pages.

I had a blast yesterday, attending the birthday party of the legend, @KanayoOKanayo, the epitome of sacrifice, as the editor-in-chief of @VoiceOfTheEast. Glad to have met some of my favourite people including @Ife_musiq, @OfficialGeeEze, and the delightful @IheomaUzomba.

For my first April story for @modaculturemag, I spoke with five remote workers on practical habits that have been an asset in their careers. Thank you @IheomaUzomba, @Emmalongee and @mikey_emmanuel for sharing your stories. Read, share and enjoy ✨ https://t.co/vyuWkPl2oD

Once again, I'm grateful to everyone who has contributed to my cause by either sharing, retweeting, mentioning to friends, donating or in any way. GoFundMe: ( https://t.co/BQURb2Zl5v)
I'm happy to share that I was accepted by two MFA programs: University of Alabama and University of Tennessee creative writing programs in poetry. Getting accepted into an MFA program means that I have the chance to further learn more about what I love to do best; writing.

We-mentorship did me much good in 2023. I was assigned a mentor, an experienced female in my field, who held my hand through the career journey of last year. I definitely recommend that you apply if you meet the criteria below.
We are ecstatic to announce that applications are now open to the WE-Mentorship Club 2024 mentorship program! To apply, visit: https://t.co/Y6xpn1xmVz
