Bruce: The short answer is yes, we are. In Singapore, the data point shows that playtime is less than 45 minutes per match. In Europe, it will be the 60 to 70 minutes range, or even higher, in some competitive leagues. A lot of that has to do with teams. refs as well.

I still see it being used, though Iโm wondering how effective it is (and how effectiveness is measured). It runs contrary to what I understand about it, but Iโm genuinely willing to know more and challenge my understanding of it.

Can football s&c coaches explain why bosu balls are still being used in physical drills/activation/technical drills? . Does the (perceived) perturbation/โunstableโ surface truly lead to better adaptations and/or performance?.

Perhaps that was prideful on my part. Lesson learnt. Never shut the door on learning. You never know when it might come back to serve you later in life.

I tend to be mathematically/physics inclined in school, but I never really pushed myself because I didn't foresee why and how it would be relevant to my future. Back then, I didn't even know I would go into sport science. Now, I find myself having to revise these topics again.

Even before learning fancy machine learning stuff like xGBoost, random forest etc, nail down the basics like . - linear regression.- multi-linear regression.- binomial/poisson/normal distributions.

As I'm learning sports analytics now, one thing I'd do differently if I were still in my teens is to take maths- specifically statistics & probability- very, very seriously.
