I was a Jehovah's Witness when I was little, went to a busing school, and often live in black & brown neighborhoods. I'm constantly subjected to racism--but it's mere suspicion & mocking, not structural racism back by the state an enforced by armed thugs with badges, so it's ok.

Is there such a thing as benign racism? Because, like, it bugs me a little that Puerto Ricans call little kids "papi." Especially if she's like, "Ai papi! in bed, then being all, "No, papi" to a misbehaving toddler. It's just too much "papi" for me.

Free trade & automation's created a shortage of decent jobs. And we all need jobs for some reason. And that's why we need a wall.

I'm not totally sure our brains can handle social media. And in many ways, these companies are exploiting our biology, manipulating us with our own dopamine. Like, they study what triggers your impulse to engage with people, notifications, etc. We live in interesting times.

Shout out to all the early homo sapiens who were fucking starving & died trying to find out what's edible. You the real heroes.

Black people are always hip to shit before white people. They've been living in a fascist state for hundreds of years. And know we're doing the Elvis thing. Hope we die on the toilet.

I can't decide if twitter is an overall good or an overall evil. One of its most sinister aspects is making you feel like you're participating, fighting the good fight, but you're possibly just wasting your righteous energy. i do not know

Life hack: The only big word you need to know is "sesquipedalian." It means "given to the use of large words." Like is Cornell West comes at you with his vocab & you're all, "No need to be sesquipedalian, Brother West." ad then ya roll

I like 'em. I do! A lot! But saying "Squad" makes me feel dumb. Not totally sure why. Ans then I start thinking about the Squid, and then squid accountants, at computers, filling out spreadsheets. "It's a livin'!" flinstones laugh track

I'd like to know why @SpeakerPelosi isn't performing her constitutional duty to check a rogue executive. Like, really, are they polling swing voters in Wisconsin who think impeachment is too far? I don't get it.

Have you seen @CillizzaCNN in person? He's a big dude. It's possible he's Clark Kenting us. And our yellow sun gives him the power of banality.

When I was little, my sister would torment me by singing, "Ian's peein' in the Caribbean!" Over & over & over, etc. It made no logical sense as a taunt, but her intent was all too clear, and it made me so fucking angry.

What's a better horror-story antagonist: Death Moose or Death Mousse? OR! It's never written & it appears in both forms! It both haunts the village & confuses the shit out of people. nvm

@EyesOnTheRight @Ian_Murphy The rise of the religious right had a tremendous role in getting us here. This country was founded by people who fled religious control and a now it's religious control that's tearing the country apart. Religion is a dangerous tool and the founding fathers knew it.
