I'm not sure folks realize the amount of times newer VAs have called their more experienced peers "mean" and "gatekeepers" behind their backs after they've tried to respectfully address concerns within the community. I genuinely don't know how we bridge that gap.

In college, I was a finalist in a voice acting contest. The prize was a FUNimation audition. I’d done no anime work. Neither had my fellow competitors. I was an unknown. I would’ve been so disheartened if an already established anime actor had entered and won (or even placed).
