My soundtrack for this Christmas Day shift is not very Christmassy, but it’s good jingles all the way.

The Spengler Cup moves higher up my bucket list each year. Just look at that barn. Looks like an instrument you could strum. Absolutely mesmerizing. #spengley

Muesli. A Shantz family Christmas tradition since 2017 or something like that. Might follow it up with some Toblerone action and bust out my Roger Federer books to ensure my Swiss roots are properly honoured.

Interesting book about a truly fascinating artist and album. Particularly love this photo of The Boss.

Living a few minutes from the St. Jacobs Market means I rarely venture elsewhere, but this old beauty — Kitchener Market, something like 156 years old — is pretty sweet on a Saturday morning.

If some words are needed for my tombstone, "Spent the entirety of his 40s listening to Dave Matthews Band, particularly the live stuff," is something I'd be OK with. Mr. Warren Haynes and DMB covering Cortez the Killer might be my favourite thing ever https://t.co/CNksgTY3Oq

At Brad Paisley in the Hammer. Couldn’t decide whether to wear a plaid shirt or a trucker hat, so wore both. No shitkickers, though.

Music nerd thing that has been on my mind for far too long. At the 2:54 mark of 100 Horses, off the excellent Geese album Getting Killed, does Geese sample a tinge of the Talking Heads' Once in a Lifetime? I hear it/love it. https://t.co/hUYY4sn1yf

Quite possibly my favourite winter band. Especially love the warmth that comes from this particular @GreatLakeSwim recording. This is probably what I would listen to while ice fishing, if I ever went ice fishing,

Here’s the cover for my yet-to-be-released album. (First need to learn an instrument and also how to sing and other stuff like that.)

The names of Sitttler, Snyder, Wideman and others hang proudly from the rafters inside Woolwich’s lovely Dan Snyder Memorial Arena. Not sure if a track walker can get a banner, but I’m doing my best.

Notes from this afternoon’s Storm-Rangers game at the Sleeman Centre: - saw a Storm T-shirt on sale and it had some trees built into the logo, which could not have been more Guelph. - didn’t drink a Sleeman. Silent protest. - good game.

At my first OHL game this season. Considered going to Kitchener, but opted for Guelph because they sell Sleeman and I got a waft of popcorn. Parking kinda lousy, though.

Somehow forgot about another little show: Oasis in Toronto. Decent upstart band. Encourage anyone to look into them.
Loved a bunch of concerts this year, including these ones (Elbow at History might have been the best one of the year, though thankfully I don't have to choose.) https://t.co/Fiu7FdoOB4

And just realized I didn't make it to @masseyhall in 2025. Has been my favourite music venue since forever ago and feels awfully wrong to skip out on it. Might have to call into work with a case of the "going to see Waxahatchee & MJ Lendermans."
