A “750M viewers” stat went viral this week. The source? “[USA Network].” No link. No report. No proof. That turned into this short piece on why sourcing still matters in sports media. 🔗 https://t.co/4Ec7UopvYy

I am actually curious. Please share an official link if you have one. I'm very skeptical that @usanetwork would put this information out there when the Super Bowl was aired on its same family of networks.

I have no doubt that many more people globally watched Liverpool-Manchester City than the Super Bowl on Sunday, but none of the stories or social media posts claiming this actually link to anything stating this officially or otherwise. Can someone provide link?
🚨 BREAKING Liverpool vs Manchester City match had a 750 million viewers global views, compared to an estimated 220 million viewers for the 2026 Super Bowl. [USA Network]

Tough moment for journalism right now. Layoffs. Uncertainty. Quiet career math. I’ve been there. More than once. Wrote this for anyone trying to prepare for what’s next, or rebuild after being forced to. 🔗 Link in bio/newsletter. #Journalism

Brutal news about the Washington Post layoffs and the elimination of the sports section. To anyone affected: you still have an audience. You have leverage. You still have options. If you’re considering newsletters or independent media, I’m happy to help, no strings. DMs open.

It's almost insane to think that Liverpool's middling "sky is falling" season in the Premier League didn't hold it back from finishing 3rd out of 32 in the Champions League standings. #LFC

I'm in agreement that Eli belongs in the Hall. But only five players max get in on normal balloting each year. It's a little crowded for him right now and the next couple of years. I made my case that he gets in by 2029 here. https://t.co/Zk8POQEkIl
Eli Manning belongs in the Hall of Fame as a Giants two-time Super Bowl MVP.... but unfortunately fell short this year: https://t.co/9ZW63v8OGT

Bill Belichick is up there with Lombardi, no doubt. I have no problem keeping him out until he's officially retired. You know he took UNC job, in part, because he wants back in the league. Thus, HoF avoids another Joe Gibbs
Regardless of your opinion of Bill Belichick, him not being a first ballot Hall of Famer is a disgrace — and a direct indictment on the Hall of Fame itself. Just an absolute joke.

Momentous day for Giants fans. With the Gulf War starting earlier in the week, the whole country needed this great game and Whitney Houston.

Fire your set-piece coach all you want, but at some point the awful defending on those this season has to fall on Slot too. With the specter of Xabi Alonso out there for many fans, the Slot in/out debate with rage even more. Unless he conjures a magical Champions League run

The word "favorite" changes how you approach it. Most of these would be in the conversation for an all-time list. My favorites (in no particular order): Seaver, deGrom, Pedro, Ryan, Gibson, Koufax, Feller, Gooden, Fidrych, Palmer
Who is your all-time favorite Starting Pitcher? 1. Sandy Koufax 2. Bob Gibson 3. Tom Seaver 4. Steve Carlton 5. Warren Spahn 6. Nolan Ryan 7. Greg Maddux 8. Pedro Martinez 9. Randy Johnson 10. Write in another SP

What a time to be a Giants fan/member of the front office. First John Harbaugh becomes available Now Mike Tomlin? Want to hear if Tomlin wants a job next season. Also, if there are any limits to pursuing him. Rooney-Mara deep connection may help.
nytimes.com
Tomlin is tied with Chuck Noll as the winningest head coach in Steelers franchise history.

Indiana feels as dominant as Saban’s best Alabama teams did when they steamrolled to nattys. But without the barrel of first-round picks. #cfp
