It is with profound sadness that The Yorkshire County Cricket Club announces the passing of Harold Dennis “Dickie” Bird MBE OBE, one of cricket’s most beloved figures, who died peacefully at home at the age of 92.

Love #local #news, genuinely do. I loved doing #wedding reports and #obituaries as a trainee #journalist and they were so special to those local families. Hence I love this story ❤️👍

Andrew was the finest of #journalists from the old school, sadly a dying breed tho still much needed - as he would agree. His tenacious work has undoubtedly helped many young, vulnerable girls. he did our profession proud. Now RIP.
