and yes even if it’s an unpopular opinion i think having two games be entirely built on defying destiny just to then end the entire story on simply “accepting your fate no matter how bad” is very poor storytelling sorry.

I'll admit in the past I have been known to make a snide comment or two that the temple is the only time Cloud gets physically intimate with Aerith in the OG. Usually in response to some nonsense.
i don’t like seeing cloud assaulting the girls being used as a shipping gotcha and i think you’re weird if you tout around either instance proudly

"the relationship that endures is cloud x tifa" well, no! for a relationship to endure, there has to be one. i've said it dozens of times and will be saying it: CT are described as childhood friends and never anything else. as for AC, they are a family of friends.

It really can't be overstated the damage general ignorance of anything past disk one and clerith well poisoning did to the collective understanding of the OG. To the point where decades and 2/3 of a remake later it is still an issue.
That's the problem. Too many people still believe cloti and zerith are just fanon. People who value the actual story are automatically shoved into that camp of being a shipper. Hell, I joined the fandom thinking this was common knowledge. It isn't. 😂

The best part of this "family of friends" clerith nonsense is it gives the impression it's like a group of adults living under one roof. When it is a man, a woman and two children. You know the classic "friends living together" group.
Yuna tells Tidus she loves him (no affection system), Orihime and Ichigo are explicitly mom and dad, Naruto and Hinata marry, etc… The best you have for CT is that they have a family of friends and live under the same roof, this is hardly a comparison lol. You are shipping 😂
