Conclusion: This is not meant as a personal attack on the coaches that ran the event. It is purely an honest evaluation of what transpired for 3 days, with mention of the many missing pieces. I want to believe those guys are good dudes, but I can only evaluate my experience.

Part 9: People from all over the country as far as Arizona and Alaska invested their hard earned money to get to Myrtle Beach, SC, as travel was not covered in the registration cost, and unfortunately it was a waste of time and resources.

Part 8: Coaches and Parents, if this event happens to survive another year, DO NOT send your players and children to this event. Players will not be developed, they will not be taken care of physically, and they will be put at risk for injury.

Part 7: The concepts being taught were trivial at best. They claimed to be getting us ready for the next level, but everything about this event says the opposite. I have been to high-school football events that were coordinated exponentially better.

Part 6: The Executive Director was Orey Ferrell. It was evident that he and his crew had zero experience coaching college football athletes, as explained with the practices devoid of structure and direction, along with all the missing simple amenities listed above.

Part 5(2): A player from the Blue team went down with a non-contact injury, which led to myself and my parents leaving before the game’s conclusion.

Part 5: Even more left during the very long delay before the 12pm game (we warmed up at 11am and did not start the “game” until 130pm). The game (really a scrimmage) was started with players switching teams and playing both sides of the ball to accommodate for the loss of numbers.

Part 4: The game on Sunday was delayed an hour and a half due to refs being late, and they were only notified the day of. In addition, a full crew of referees is 7 people. There were only 2. Many players left throughout the weekend because of the rag-tag nature of the event.

Part 3: The practice on Friday ran 3 hours long, Saturday’s practice was 2 hours and 45 minutes, and athletes had zero recovery options available post practice (no ice tubs, soft tissue massages, or simple equipment such as bands, foam rollers, or lacrosse balls).

Part 2: My team (Red) had a lineman playing center who had never played center before. Practices were disjointed and unorganized. No coach even had a script in their hand. There was only one athletic trainer on hand. Players were not fed the proper nutrition (pizza & subs).

Part 1: The roster was not fully formed. Numbers of lineman and linebackers on each team were structured as if one person goes down, there is no one to replace them. There were only 4 QBs in all and one left during the first practice, leaving the red team with only one QB.
