UFC matchmakers have a bad habit of over-hyping Heavyweight prospects - setting them up for failure by prematurely booking fights vs established vets. Mario Pinto proved to be a complete MMA fighter at UFC Rio. I think a Derrick Lewis fight makes sense, in this case. #UFCRio

The only thing that could really compete, outside of a fighter defending a belt 5x in a calendar year, would be Pereira getting a belt in three separate weight classes. All things considered, based on level of comp & schedule, a win here for Merab is undeniably historic.

If Merab Dvalishvili defends the BW title 4x in a calendar year, it will be the greatest accomplishment in the 30+ year history of the UFC. Bigger than anyone achieving “double champ” status. Bigger than McGregor simultaneously obtaining both FW & LW titles. #UFC323
