3/COPFS needs to review demand & set out the level of service it wants to provide to those making enquiries, many of whom are victims & witnesses. Enquiry Point needs appropriate staffing & better support from across the organisation. All staff need the tools to do their job well

2/ While the quality of enquiry handling is generally good, we are concerned about unmet demand for the service. Last year, 19% of callers were turned away because call queues were full. Many callers in the queue abandoned their call before it was answered.

A very happy anniversary to @hmcpsi, our counterpart in England & Wales! We look forward to many more years of sharing information and good practice in independent inspection, as we both continue to support improvement in our justice systems.
Today we are celebrating our 25th year anniversary of being the independent inspectorate of the @CPSUK and @UKSFO. Independent inspection is about helping improve the organisations we inspect, those who work in the criminal justice system, and for victims and the public.
