📚 The Indo-German collaboration has already resulted in a co-authored review article in the Journal of Experimental Botany, providing a comprehensive perspective on seed coat–embryo–endosperm interactions. 🔗

Through WISER, Dr. Sharma initiated collaboration with Dr. Duarte Dionísio Figueiredo, Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology, Potsdam. This partnership combines NABI’s omics expertise with Max Planck’s advanced imaging approaches.

Her WISER project focuses on deciphering the genetic and molecular interactions among these three seed structures. This “dialogue” ultimately determines agronomic traits such as productivity, resilience, and nutritional value.

🌱Listening to Seeds: Unlocking Hidden Conversations Dr. Rita Sharma, Scientist E at the National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute(NABI), Mohali, is investigating how embryo, seed coat, & endosperm communicate to influence crop yield & resilience under the IGSTC WISER programme.
