📣Calling all emergent anatomists📣 The International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA) Executive Committee will again support ‘Emergent Anatomists’ (academic staff and postgraduate students) to attend the 2026 IFAA Congress in Melbourne, Australia.

Amanda regularly contributes anatomy articles to The Conversation and serves as a peer reviewer for Anatomical Sciences Education. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys rock hounding and tumbling, viewing dinosaur fossils, and - after a 15‑year break - has returned to sewing. #IFAA2026

A founding member of the Global Neuroanatomy Network, Amanda is active in the ANZACA & the American Association for Anatomy. For nearly 15 years, she has taught tertiary anatomy to students ranging from diploma to doctoral levels.

Meet Dr Amanda Meyer Dr Amanda Meyer is an anatomist, anatomical science educator, neuroanatomy textbook author, and researcher. Amanda is also helping out with marketing and engagement for IFAA 2026.

She shares this passion through her social media platform, @OrientatewithdrJoyce, dedicated to human anatomy, ethics, and community building. Outside of work, Joyce enjoys listening to music, photography, and collecting plants — though the survival rate of her collection can vary

Leading research on informed consent, the ethical use of human collections, and clinically significant anatomical variations. Recognised with multiple awards for her outstanding contributions to student learning, Joyce is passionate about making anatomy accessible and meaningful.

Meet Dr Joyce El-Haddad Dr Joyce El-Haddad is an anatomist and medical educator who is also helping with marketing and engagement for IFAA 2026. A Lecturer in Anatomy at UNSW Sydney, Joyce’s work sits at the intersection of anatomy and ethics.
