SEVENTEEN SASAENG/PROBLEMATIC FANSITE DOCUMENT: In response to the emergence of several recent incidents involving sasaengs and sasaeng allegations, we (carats) have reconstructed and updated the sasaeng fansite guidance document that was previously.

reminder that many fansites are able to fund their activities through good they make (cheering kits, dolls) especially around tour season. if you choose to purchase any other goods from fansites make sure they are not ones who use the money from fans to violate artist privacy.

i couldn’t tell you what vernon (my ult of six years) has done this week besides his instagram stories because that’s what he himself shared with us. and that is as much as i want to know. not information obtained by shady or gross means.

carats (& kpop fans in general) refuse to see idols as people, and view them as commodities. in what world is it okay to be updated on someone’s ever waking moment and every move they make without them even knowing? and why do you care what they’re doing when they don’t tell you?.

the problem is fans who do go to hotels and airports and invade personal space do not have any sense of respect or decency and no amount of scolding will stop them. they’re being constantly enabled online by other fans and the company does absolutely nothing to put an end to it.

we have gotten so many updates from svt themselves this week alone (including an update on jh) if you have to resort to photos taken without the members consent by stalkers i beg you to take a step back and remember you are not owed these updates from anyone outside of svt.

at this point carats have been made aware of them (and many other fansites) to not be sharing their photos or ones that look like they were taken with malice and if you do that’s willful ignorance on your part.

blind: missing items from shipped out goods in april and refusing to get back to people who have they have reached out to (multiple people).vobo: opened a photo exhibition for wz which was cancelled due to their negligence but refusing to offer refunds to ticket purchasers

blind (mg) and vobo (wz) have been exposed for scamming carats of their money so if them invading the members’ privacy wasn’t enough maybe them [allegedly] taking money from fans will get you to reconsider.

“but people at the airport aren’t fans they’re selling photos” to people LIKE YOU!!!! online, they know they can thrive in online spaces because fans don’t care and continue to share these photos!!!! and that’s why nothing is ever done by fans or management.
