Reading aloud to students builds background knowledge. Children take in more sophisticated content via listening and discussion than through their own reading. This allows all students access to information and vocabulary they will need to read complex text independently.

The annual ReadOhio Literacy Academy will take place June 10 and June 11 in Columbus. The seventh annual Literacy Academy will provide professional learning to support the use of evidence-based language and literacy practices Birth-Grade 12. There are no registration fees.
