On the evening of 10 July, an ICRC staff member and a PRCS volunteer were injured by gunshots during a joint rescue mission. The ICRC is outraged by this attack which is a stark reminder of the grave danger civilians in Gaza face every day.

On May 28, 13-year-old Ezzedine was hit by a stray bullet while receiving care at the Red Cross Field Hospital in Rafah. He was transferred for specialized treatment but unfortunately died from his wounds yesterday. We extend our condolences to his family and loved ones.

We’re devastated by the killing of our colleague Mahmoud Barakeh, who worked at the Red Cross Field Hospital. He was killed on his way home on Sunday 22 June. Our hearts are with his family and loved ones. Five colleagues have been killed in Gaza since October of 2023.
