IBS Junior Division completes Section Commander Battle Course (Tac) 2203. LCpl Session from First Fusiliers became the Top Student with Distinction and Instructors’ Commendation. Congratulations to all who have successfully completed this course.

All staff from Infantry Battle School, Brecon bided farewell to Comd CMC Brigadier B J Cattermole CBE on 29 Mar 23. He was presented with an iconic pointing man as a leaving memento.

Service personnel and their families of Gurkha Wing Mandalay, IBS Brecon have commemorated their MANDALAY battle honour day on 20 March 2023.

SCBC 2203 have moved onto Skill at Arms phase of their course. This will test them, in their ability to be Weapon Instructors within the British Army. Pushing some with late nights and last-minute lesson prep.

Members of the Parliament from the Armed Forces Parliament Scheme (AFPS) visited the Infantry Battle School on 19 Jan 23. They have been taken through various departmental presentations brief on capabilities, resources and future concept of the Infantry Battle School.

SCBC 2203 has formed up this week @IBS. They have started on the DTC module which qualifies them as future Defence Instructors after the course. This with @m2m2UK is accredited for free. Giving them civilian qualifications whilst doing the course. A fantastic example of CPD.

AASAA 2202 have formed up this week and started their journey to become Skill at Arms instructors within the British Army. The course may only be two weeks long but allows them to be the gatekeepers for the safe and effective handling of weapon systems within their units 👊

The Infantry Battle School organized a cracking Bonfire Night on Saturday, 5th of November 2022 in Dering Lines. A huge number of spectators from Brecon local area were present.

The team from Infantry Battle School (IBS), Brecon has been awarded the GOLD Medal on a highly prestigious and physically arduous Cambrian Patrol Competition 2022. Many congratulations to whole team achieving such an excellent result.

SCBC 2202 have moved onto their last week on Skill at Arms in IWD. Time to get their safety quals for Live Fire Tactical Training. The basic done well here will enable more complex training later on during the week. One week to push now!

Training Support Division (Gurkha Wing Mandalay) celebrated Dashain festival with series of ritual services over 26 Sep to 5 Oct 22. VIPs and digniteries from local area were present on KALARATRI dinner night on 3 Oct. The final day, TIKA ceremony was held on 5 Oct 22.

More civilian recognised qualifications that can be accredited to the trainees for no cost to them, are given later in the course. The question is how we can make it even better in terms of teaching but also outputs.

The course has evolved as time goes on. From small wins like form up being on a working day rather than a Sunday. To accrediting in the Army Skills Offer into the course itself. Giving a Level 3 award in Education and another in Coaching with @m2m2UK.

Section Commanders Battle Course (SCBC) 2202 started last week. They are currently on Defence Trainer Course (DTC). This gives them the ability and skills to be able to be posted into a Training Regiment after SCBC and deliver world-class training to the next generation.

This year elements of IWD have enjoyed the opportunity to partake in army-level sports, such as hockey and mountain biking. Using the local area to conduct team bonding, in the national parks, ending with a tour of the @PenderynWhisky before having summer leave and then an SCBC👊

One foot on the ground. Students on the Section Commanders Battle Course 2201 assault the enemy position during Exercise Second Blood. No one leads troops closer to the enemy than a Section Commander, where maximum aggression and leadership are vital.

Good luck to All Arms Skill At Arms 2201 who form up on Sunday for the next two weeks. Taught by the @SASC_1853, those that are successful will be awarded the Skill at Arms Qual allowing them to be the SMEs and the gatekeepers of best practice in their units.🤜
