Stats for BC aren't very reliable. They're often based on a single institution (could look overly optimistic) or SEER data, which might show the opposite. These data aren't current so understand that YOU are not a statistic. My prognosis was 12-18 mo. That was 31 years ago!

It is long past the time when people should be excluded from trials due to brain mets. Did you know that brain metastasis is more common than primary brain tumors?
Brain metastases are usually diagnosed by MRI. When cancer spreads to the meninges or cerebrospinal fluid, it’s called leptomeningeal disease—a particularly difficult form to treat. We need more research—and trials that include people with brain mets. #UntilNoOneDiesFromMBC

Oct 16 was #NationalMammogramDay. While they can be useful, they seldom pick up #IBC. Don't let a Dr dismiss your concerns just because they didn't see a lump. YOU know your body, so keep pushing for answers. #AdvocateforYourself

Last year I shared there was no IBC specific ICD code making it hard to obtain accurate #s of ppl dx with IBC. Thanks to efforts of the #IBCCollaborative, we made that happen! Share this info with HCPs & don't forget to tell them about the #IBC Diagnostic Scoring Scale as well!
