Let’s share & show up for Jayla. And for all Black and Brown women who refuse the logics of white control over Black humans — via policing, sexual assault, and beyond.

The university of iowa and the city of iowa city criminalize property destruction but coddle white men who perpetuate sexual harm.

This was true during enslavement in the us, during jim crow laws, all the way through today on Iowa City. The sexual assaulters were assured by the university they weren’t in trouble, and the administrators coddled them like children.

Racial capitalism instructs police to work with other powerful entities (like university administrators) to protect white people & white property. Black women who resist are criminalized above & beyond the white men who commit physical and sexual harm.

Jayla has been arrested by ICPD and were asking folks to spread awareness and be prepared to organize around any upcoming direct actions as she prepares for trial. This is why we organize for abolition.

(6) I am asking you to stand in solidarity with us, as we seek justice in the sentencing of three co-defendants in the heinous murder and disfigurement of my nephew. The primary suspect was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.

(5) His father lives in Miami, Florida. For a myriad of reasons, only with father and I, his aunt Paula Terrell, will be able to attend the sentencing. Hopefully a few of his children and their mother will attend.
