I've been thinking about the idea of best. It seems like some kind of outcome. It's transitory & changes from moment to moment & is unnecessarily comparative. Best is about engagement, not outcome. If we can be fully present in all we do, best just takes care of itself.

Doubts should free us. Once we accept we don't know what happens next... that we can't predict or plan everything in our lives... Then we're free to act. What's holding us back? What's to be afraid of if we've given up on the illusion of knowing what could possibly happen?

So, oddly enough, this morning I was thinking about hard work. We talk about it like it's a guarantee of success. That's naive. What it will get you is answers to questions that not everyone gets answered. Don't do it for the outcomes. Do it because that's who you are.

When others try to define us, they only limit themselves. So, it's their problem.

Face it, we have no idea how today is going to turn out. So, there's no use in anticipating stuff and either garnering disappointment or anxiety. Let's just be open and take it as it comes. Whadya say?
