N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will close I-77 South near Gilead Road (exit 23) next weekend, weather permitting. Contract crews will close all southbound lanes, including the express lanes, just past the exit from 11 p.m. – 5 a.m. Sept. 7, 8 and 9.

We received suspect info that a male, thin build, wearing jeans and gray sweatshirt was seen running away. The witness was not able to provide a race of the suspect. Detectives are still on-scene, completing their investigation. There is no on-going threat to the public. Page 2

Shooting Investigation Update This afternoon we responded to a shots fired call in the Holly Crest Apartments. When officers arrived on-scene they discovered a middle-aged white male suffering gun shot wounds. He was pronounced deceased by Medic personnel. Page 1
