House Republicans unveil debt limit legislation targeting Biden’s student loan policies

The debt limit took center stage during @SecCardona's Hill visit this week, where House appropriators dug into @usedgov's budget priorities for upcoming fiscal year. Details:

A new lawsuit is seeking to upend @usedgov’s continuation of the pause on federal student loan payments and interest accrual, arguing that all of the department’s approved extensions lack authority.

With the return of student loan payments looming, call centers at 2 major servicers will be closed on Saturdays. That's just 1 of many factors that have advocates worried that if payments resume as scheduled later this year "we are headed into a disaster."
