Since the site changed hands, it has undercut all five of those values: gutting its privacy team, changing its code of conduct, rescinding permissions to its API, actively encouraging misinformation, and creating a bizarre new hierarchy of paid and promoted accounts.

Like so many, we at HuMetricsHSS have been watching the implosion of Twitter with increasing concern. While Twitter was never perfect, it once served as a medium we came to appreciate in regard to the values we hold dear: equity, openness, collegiality, soundness, & community.
