1.1 showed excellent technology skills today when making their own moving pictures using a bridge slider mechanism.

In R2 this week we went out on a local walk to look at different houses. The children could recognise and recall the different names. They kept safe as we were walking and were very sensible.

R1 have been learning about different types of houses. We went on a walk in our local area to see what types of houses we could see. The children were great ambassadors for Howe Dell School, demonstrating excellent behaviour and knowledge on how to stay safe.

This week, children in 4.1 used dienes to create all the multiplication facts for their 6 x tables. They then recoded these facts in their books. Well done!

Yr6 had another fantastic week when the whole year group continued to work with Pete Letanka. The children performed music from and inspired by Handel's Messiah at the Hatfield House Music Festival.

Today in year 4-1 we made a geodesic structure from wooden sticks and elastic bands made into triangles- the whole class could sit under! This was a real challenge!

In Reception we have been learning about the story 'I'm Almost Always Kind'. We have been learning about ways to be kind. R1 enjoyed making pictures for our friends, putting them in envelopes and writing our friends names on. We loved watching our friends open their gifts!

6.1 are really enjoying their workshops with musician Pete Letanka as they prepare for the Hatfield House Music Festival. They are especially enjoying learning Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus!

This week, during science, children in 4.1 observed a range of plants which reproduce in different ways. They were able to identify whether a plant was ‘flowering’ or ‘non-flowering’ just by its appearance and other characteristics.
