If you’ve received a denial notice from the CA COVID-19 Rent Relief program, you have 30 days to submit an appeal. If you need help you can reach out to our Local Partner Network appointment center to schedule time with a trusted partner who can assist you.

We are conducting additional outreach phone calls to applicants who have any incomplete tasks in their application. These calls are not spam! Please log into your application portal to determine what next steps are needed and respond as quickly as possible.

IMPORTANT: It is critical that you respond to any requests for additional information from your case manager as quickly as possible. Remaining applications can only be processed as quickly as applicants respond to questions or tasks.

The CA COVID-19 Rent Relief call and appointment centers will be closed Monday, June 20, in observance of the Juneteenth National Independence Day holiday.

Our case managers have reviewed every application submitted through the Housing is Key portal. Be sure to check your email for follow-ups from your case manager and log into your account for status updates.

If you have an application in progress with the CA COVID-19 Rent Relief program, you can log into your account at any time to check your status, review assigned tasks, or get more information.

Don’t forget! Eviction protections were extended for individuals who submitted qualifying applications for relief on or before March 31. However, rent and utility payments must be made by the tenant beginning April 1.

The Housing is Key call and appointment centers will be closed on Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day.

Many CA families are struggling to keep up with the rising cost of living. While some eviction protections expired yesterday, tenants still have rights under CA law. Know your rights and seek legal aid if you are being threatened with eviction.

CA eviction protections are now extended to 6/30 if you submit your Rent Relief application by 3/31. Remember: the program only covers rent/utility owed up to March 31. Tenants must pay rent & utilities starting 4/1. Failure to pay April rent and beyond could result in eviction.

California’s statewide COVID-19 eviction protections are set to expire on March 31, 2022, but some local jurisdictions continue to have protections in place. Make sure to check with your city or county for more information.
