Over 100 of us occupied @LewishamCouncil housing office this morning demanding 'No More House of Horrors'. We were there with two families who have been trapped in hostels for a total of 4 years. These families need local social housing now!

We were supporting our member Jacqueline this morning for her legal challenge against Southwark council. Her unaffordable rent is leaving her with debts but the council refuse to recognise that she is homeless😠 . We are still waiting on the judgement but we'll keep you updated

🤔Just for the record, we weren't 'faced down' by Richard Livingstone. The council hired lawyers to evict the occupation. Digusted that Livingstone sold off precious council housing and is now trying to win it back for his own personal gain 😡.@London_Centric.
This is amazing from @London_Centric - the councillor who oversaw the sale of London’s most expensive council house in 2013 has now entered a prize draw to win it for himself!

It's great to see our report included in this important article. Along w our sister group @HaringeyHousing we have been fighting private sector discharge with our members - and winning - and we have plans for wider campaigning to end this cruel and harmful policy for good!💪✊.

It's strange that Enfield council seem to justify their devastating and extreme private sector discharge policy by claiming that other councils are doing this - when the stats show that they are the outlier.
