In the mood for a cocktail? StrangeLove is calling your name. An extension of the @HopeDistillery, the cocktail lounge features pared-back Scandi furnishings in dark hues, lush greenery and wooden finishes. But it’s the curated cocktail-and-mini-food menu that got our attention.

Introducing the HOPE spirits ... our final spirit is our HOPE Rhum Agricole. Rhum Agricole is distilled from fresh pressed sugarcane juice rather than molasses. This is a uniquely South African Rhum expression: grassy, fragrant and floral.

Introducing the HOPE spirits ... next up is our 100% agave spirit, aka tequila. Called Esperanza - which means HOPE in Spanish - we source organic blue weber agave from Mexico and ferment slowly, then distil it in Mad Mary and rest it for 30 days for it to settle.

Introducing the HOPE spirits: we're not just a Gin Distillery, but make a range of spirits too. First up is our Small Batch Vodka, distilled from Western Cape grape spirit. Smooth enough to be sipped on ice, it also makes for a delicious Bloody Mary!

Introducing the final gin in our permanent collection, the Hope Navy Strength. Just 4 key botanicals and bottled at 57% ABV, the extra kick of alcohol in this super strength gin results in a fuller flavoured spirit which is perfect for mixing into G&Ts and cocktails.

Introducing the HOPE gins ... the 3rd gin we developed is our savoury, unusual Hope Mediterranean Gin. Distilled from a local grape spirit, this gin is infused with juniper, lots of orange, fresh herbs and manzanilla olives. Great in a Dirty Martini or a savoury Negroni!

BREAKING NEWS ... Now that things are starting to "normalise" (don't we all hate that word!), we've listened to you and realise it's time to reopen the Tasting Room! We'll be opening from Wednesday 16 February, and it will be open 2pm to 5pm, closing slightly later on Fridays!

Introducing the HOPE gins ... 2nd up is our Hope African Botanical Gin, which celebrates our distinctive fynbos. Also distilled from a soft wheat spirit, this gin is infused with juniper, citrus, kapokbos and buchu: South Africa in a glass!

Introducing the HOPE gins ... we of course need to start with our classic: Hope London Dry Gin. Distilled from a soft wheat spirit, this gin is infused with juniper, citrus, fresh rosemary and lemon pelargonium - delicious in a Martini or G&T.

Makes me sick, a new restaurant is opening in Cape Town, charging wineries listing fees of R12000. Screwing wineries over after what they have been through in the last 18 months. Producers need to stand together and boycott listing fees.
