Shane Battier’s block of Gardner, tossing the ball behind his back to Chris Duhon in the 2001 title game is what I think about when making love to my wife.

That’s one way to look at it. Another way is, if he doesn’t win 30 this year or next, he’ll become the second coach since Tom Scott to not win at least 30 at least once in their first six seasons. Smith took six years, while Roy did it in year two. Matt Doherty is the other.

Hubert Davis is the only UNC head coach to win 20 or more games in each of his first five seasons.

Monday games always feel like a trap game for Duke, especially if they have tired legs. But this is a home game vs Syracuse, who is 4-7 away from the Dome, with losses against Boston College and Hofstra. Cuse can hit 3s, but they can’t rebound, so we should dominate the boards.

We all know the voters are going to drop Zona below Iowa State and ruin this for all of us.

Jai Lucas turning over his entire roster and making Miami a tourney team is impressive and worthy of COY honors (it is). Jon Scheyer replacing his entire starting lineup and going 23-2 is also impressive and worthy of COY honors.

The voters have a chance to do the right thing and put Michigan and Duke 1-2 in this week’s rankings.

Edit: this should be 55 out of 58. Duke only led by nine against Clemson last year.

If Texas Tech beats Arizona, it would mean they have victories over three of the top four ranked teams in the nation. They already beat Duke and split with Houston. That would be really impressive.

The narrative from the media is Scheyer’s teams blow leads since they had a double digit lead in their last 3 defeats. Without context, that narrative might make sense. But the reality is, Duke has had a double digit lead in 55 of their last 58 games, going 52-3 in those games.

Happy for Miami (Ohio) for being undefeated, but their schedule is a joke. They’ve faced one team among Ken Pom’s top-100 and their non-conf schedule consists of three teams who don’t even qualify for a Ken Pom Ranking; Trinity Christian, Indiana East and Milligan.

Willing to bet the top-four teams in the rankings have never faced each other like this in the regular season.

Pittsburgh looks like crap. Once again, tough to compete after this playing your Super Bowl.

Duke has had a double digit lead in 56 of their last 58 games. Games against Georgia Tech and Florida State this season were the only two.

Duke is 54-4 in their last 58 games. The media: why does Jon Scheyer blow so many games?

With Big Pat out injured or in foul trouble, Cameron Boozer is playing Christian Laettner minutes lately.

Three Clemson defenders tackle Boozer… no foul. Ngongba breaths near a Clemson player… foul.

Clemson wants to leave Evan alone to double Boozer, I’ll take that.

Two good defensive teams, so not surprised by the low scoring slugfest.
