if the ending of the Metal Virus was the reveal that Sonics whole struggle throughout the arc was entirely pointless and that things would have been way easier it Sonic just got fully infected earlier, that would have gone down as one of the most annoying endings in the franchise.
IDW Metal Virus should have ended with Sonic getting fully taken over and resisting control because he’s him similar to dark gaia corruption.
