A very wet hour spent clearing the pots in the vegetable trug area and harvesting salad potatoes from just one of the potato sacks, planted in late spring by year 4.

The children who have attended science microscopy club over the last 5 weeks have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They’ve been immersed in a world not normally seen by the naked eye and blown away by how things look when magnified.

The year 4 children have been working diligently to create stained glass windows in RE. They were inspired from geometric pattern used in Mosques and the stories told in the stained glass windows in churches.

Science microscopy club. The children enjoyed looking at pre prepared slides today, practising their focusing skills. They also investigated how all our fingerprints are different and that we can look at them closely to identify a recognisable pattern on them.

Hollyfield enjoyed hosting the @GreatSciShare this morning. It was brilliant to share science with 5 other local primary schools. All the children and staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves sharing and trying out new activities. #GreatSciShare

The ducklings from Reception have settled in to their weekend holiday home. They seem very happy and are getting used to their quieter environment away from the exciting and buzzing Reception classrooms.

The Hollyfield staff had a fab time this morning during the Health for Life programme training. We exchanged some valuable skills and activity ideas that will be perfect for using with the children. We even put our skills to the test by making delicious pizzas! Great job, team!😊
