But other than Konate's continuing descent into a latter day Skrtel, there were some good showings today. Kerkez had his strongest game in red, plenty of driving runs forward. Still raw but good signs. Wirtz is boss, Jones was calm and measured.

It'll be interesting to see how Konate reacts to us getting another CB in that could be a rival for his place. I don't think Slot is stuck on him at all and is playing him out of sheer necessity. The player himself has the air of a man who knows his position isn't under threat.

I think that the decision to ignore the foul on Frimpong - after which they went up the other end and scored - showed that the confidence is still brittle. One wrong thing seems to shake us, but after the first 15 of the second half we weren't ever in real danger.

Well done the Reds. Never any easy games in this league and we didn't make it easy on ourselves but for all the commentators were talking up Wolves putting the pressure on we defended the 2-1 fine. Some really promising signs and all being well the confidence is coming back.

That came directly from the referee failing to give a clear free kick to Frimpong up the other end. Don't get me wrong, you have to defend the ball in but that was an awful decision from the official.

Good stuff that. Never panicked at the massed ranks in front of them and kept doing the right things, just needed to increase the pace which they did. Made up. No doubt plenty are unhappy it isn't 4-0 but increasingly with our fans you can't please everyone.

Spielberg's less is more, Jurassic Park. I saw somewhere that the dinos are only on screen for something like 22 minutes of the entire runtime, but that was all that was needed for the suspense and horror the director wanted to convey. A perfect film.

The biggest reason why United are winning here is Eddie Howe being a fucking diabolical manager, but it's always staggering to me, a 90s kid, how appalling Manchester United are. They have some absolutely awful players masquerading as footballers.
