Watching this kind frenetically edited, low-information high-stimulation stuff irritates me to no end. Compare to old PBS cooking shows, which were edited with long slow shots to teach rather than dazzle. This guy isn't a food artist, he's a maker of strobing algorithm bait.
There are some truly talent artists walking around. For all the negatives of social media, at least we get to see these.

@NigelBest5 Yeah this guy was a handsome Rhode Island Red that tractor supply sold me as a sexed hen of a different breed. He ate a lot, and crowed a lot, but he did his rooster-y job in the end. I'll pour one out for my brave homie, Mr Red.

@B4252Jones It depends on predators, how many birds you have, and luck to a certain extent. I had a fox tear the chicken wire off a window, squeeze inside, and kill 10 chickens in one night. I've had chickens drop dead from disease, drown, get themselves stuck in wire fencing and die, etc. .

@OldHollowTree The one I helped build when I was in elementary school back in the day degraded in about 30 years and needed to be torn down. It started to rot, ends got splintery, etc. I'm guessing just short lifespan did them in. Metal playground stuff from the 60's is still usable.

@purplcabbage Probably some of both, and a lot of just letting the apps run all the time to ameliorate boredom/keep hope alive.

@Dcednz As an amateur naturalist, I'm much more interested in rhythms of migration and season.

@B4252Jones I also have hens totally ignore all good sense, hop the fence and go wandering off into the bushes where foxes/coyotes/bobcats/hawks kill them.

@B4252Jones Chickens will also start to die of more or less natural causes at 3-4 years. I have too many to pen in a small area, so they free range in a large fenced enclosure with rooster guards, sleep in a secure coop at night. Every year I lose 10% ish of my laying hens to predation.

@Redbarn318 Totally. I don't know how people can watch this stuff. I find it quite irritating after like 10 seconds.

@scratchyjohnson The apps stay on, broadcasting at all times, unless shut off. You pick them up if they come within a defined mileage.

@nealjclark1 @MichaelTG09 I knew this many of this type, but I knew this exact girl, and she became an HR girlboss.

@bog_beef Totally. On the low culture end this was ren faires, trailer park guys with Celtic knot tattoos, and the book Mists of Avalon. On the fancy side it was intersectional feminist pagan chicks lighting candles and connecting with their ancestral Brigid energy. It was ok to be white.

It fascinates me the way a tweet can escape the normal limits and attract these totally bonkers takes. The mind of somebody who thinks liking local hardware store nuts and bolts sections= "profound racism" is incredible, like a parody of leftist paranoia. Looking glass Red Scare.

@foragervoyager @MichaelTG09 @nealjclark1 Best part about these stories is I can't tell which are really real, and which are partial fiction😅.

Look, I'm a small town guy and I'd like to see them all not turn to shit, but this take is a typical based-but-totally-ignorant-city-person take. This treats the symptoms, not the disease and WILL NOT WORK. Small towns fail for economic reasons first, then social rot follows.
Very simple to take back a dying small town in middle America. Note: Simple is different from easy. 1. Outlaw hiring of illegal aliens. 2. Replace public schools with classical charters and give parents oversight of curriculum. 3. Close all weed shops. 4. Zero tolerance for.

@CaseyBHead Ace are cool, but this is the local champ Carr Hardware. Been in the same building for like 100 years, I remember going in with my dad when I was a kid.

@DHFabian1 Yeah my dad was a plumber so I spent a lot of quality time in my youth handing him tools and listening to him curse at the hack job somebody else did that he now had to fix.

Fascinating that the lifter bro statue posters are so fixated on this idea of warbands, conquering, and exploring. On one hand, yes this is a necessary part of the male psyche that needs healthy expression. On the other hand, our civilization has peaked and you're not Pizarro.
The most dangerous part of Bronze Age Mindset remains, by far, the message that small groups of men, bound together by shared bonds of loyalty, can topple empires and change history. This is the message for a new age of exploration, excitement and conquest.

@BariYawar This is an incredibly cynical fantasy based on absolutely zero information. Says a lot about you, nothing about her.

@snowset @Bug_Hall There's a very good book about this. How it's the people with the dismissive "I've done this thousands of times and I didn't die" attitude who are the most dangerous to themselves. Skirt death a thousand times, don't realize how close you are to the edge, until one day you die.

@myth_pilot I did this and it was awesome. Also amazing with slices of honeydew melon in the summer. I saved the skin/fat chunks and when the ham was done I rendered the fat, and made pork rinds from the skin. It was amazing.

@scratchyjohnson Could totally be part Hallmark fantasies. Also probably part not giving much thought to app management. They just sort of run in the background of your life.

@extradeadjcb If this somehow disappoints you, you are extremely out of touch with who the employees at a waffle house are. She seems pretty cool, and would definitely be WAY better to have at your side in a fight than whatever your weird fantasy girl is.

@ericraum There are two tools available, they cost roughly the same. One is 4x as capable as the other. Which is a better tool for general use?.

@StevePender Crack pipe take. You need to be able to get hands on. Thread things together, try out different orders and setups, scratch your head a bit, mull things over.

Nobody remembers this, my dude this was my girlfriend and her entire friend group, including Kyrsten Sinema. Those ladies all had multiple NPR tote bags and so many Celtic accessories, candles, and crystals. 2000's white women were all about their oppressed Celtic roots.
Literally nobody remembers this, but in the 1990s and early 2000s, NPR used to run alot of white nationalist content for women. Europe was talked about like Wakanda, this place of spiritual wholeness. Before Tiny Desk, it was all stuff like "Celtic Revival" or monk chanting, etc.
