Yesterday Early years had a fabulous day celebrating World Bee Day ! The children had lots of fun learning all about bees, making bee crowns , Playdough bees, trying honey sandwiches and lots lots more ! #WorldBeeDay #Earlyyears

Globes are now live!! Hillside’s Globe sculpture is now on display at @The_Tetley in Leeds as part of the World Reimagined sculpture trail! Show your support and enjoy a great day out!

We were inspired by Caribbean folklore and the 'Jumbies' that featured in them. We changed our characters slightly to represent how stories change over time as they are passed from generation to generation. We then created patterns inspired by Kuba, Kente and Madras.

We started the project with a visit from Ras Akyem-i Ramsay alongside Alison from the Henry Moore institute. Our globe was created to celebrate the culture of Africa and the Caribbean using colours, patterns and characters.

Hillside has been taking part in The World Reimagined: a UK-wide art education project featuring globally-recognised artists to transform how we understand the Transatlantic Trade in Enslaved Africa and its impact on us all. This is not ‘Black History’, this is all of our history

Today, Sharks class said good-bye to their beautiful butterfly's. We have loved watching the life cycle of a butterfly. We watched them fly off into the world and waved. We hope they come back and visit us soon. #outdoorlearning #successfulstudents @SouthPennine
