This week in FS1 we are learning about celebrations! We are learning about Diwali, making Diya lamps, tasting Indian food and making Mehndi patterns. We are also learning about and exploring Halloween within our sensory area. @HighCragsPLA

1EQ have had a brilliant day at the farm and are now on their way home. We have learnt all about the animals on the farm and how to spin wool. We also revisited our learning on herbivores, carnivores and omnivores! @HighCragsPLA

This week in FS1 & 2 years we are focussing on Autumn. We are thinking about the signs of Autumn and will explore these within the indoor and outdoor provision. @HighCragsPLA

FS1 have enjoyed exploring our Autumn/Halloween themed mud kitchen. They are making spooky pumpkin pie! 🎃 @HighCragsPLA

Some of our KS2 children took part in a unihock tournament at Hanson on Thursday. The children showcased some excellent control and improved their skills throughout the tournament. They showed great sportsmanship and were excellent role models for the school. Well done! 🏑🥅

Today FS1 had a very exciting visit from 'Science Explorers' where they engaged in a nature themed art workshop. They worked together to create some beautiful pieces of art. Everybody had lots of fun! @HighCragsPLA

Last week we celebrated 'European Day of Languages.'The reception and year one children enjoyed learning about Italy and Germany. They learnt some traditional dances, coloured flags and learnt simple words! 🇩🇪🇮🇹 Ottimo lavoro! @HighCragsPLA

Our first topic based role play area is up and running in FS1 this week. A baby clinic based on our key reader ‘There’s a House inside my Mummy.’ The children will learn key role play skills whilst thinking about themselves now and what they were like as babies. @HighCragsPLA

Nursery are starting their first key story this week. ‘The colour monster." Our provision has been transformed! Our focus today and tomorrow is the colour red! @HighCragsPLA

We had a great FS2 sports day today. The children really enjoyed it! Thanks to all the parents that came to support and all the volunteers and helpers! @HighCragsPLA

FS2 have been creating some amazing mandalas during Writedance. This has really helped us to develop our fine motor skills and pencil control this year. They are beautiful...well done FS2! @HighCragsPLA

We marked Thank a Teacher Day by sharing delicious biscuits to say thanks for all of the great things our teachers do each and every day. #ThankATeacherDay
