What's more is that Hyperspace where Sue's powers come from is described as the source of all energy and Hyperstorm who also draws his power from there can manipulate virtually all forms of energy so Sue doing this ties into her hidden potential Hyperstorm mentioned
I've said this before but I'm forever greatful to Ryan North expanding Sue's powers in ways I never even thought about In OWUD we saw Sue's ability to bend light evolving into the ability to bend a wide variety of energy forms in and outside the electromagnetic spectrum
