As a lifelong #Tintin fan, I’d have loved to own this great framed image signed by #Hergé. Sadly, it was not for sale. This was in the legendary Lambiek comic shop in #Amsterdam 🇳🇱

I felt it was very fitting when HMV in Liverpool had this image of the Fab Four on their shop.

On this day in 1963, the Beatles taped their appearance with Morecambe & Wise. The show was broadcast on the 18th of April 1964.

Morning commute with Miles. “Quiet Nights” from 1963 was not favoured by #MilesDavis as he felt it was unfinished. I think it’s beautiful and very calming. This was Miles’s fourth and final collaboration with arranger and conductor Gil Evans. “On the corner of Miles and Gil”

Grosvenor Square, #Manchester. The All Saints church is seen in 1937 (it was bombed in the Blitz and later demolished). The 47th municipal school building adjacent to the Mancunian Way was demolished in c.1968. Manchester Polytechnic’s All Saints building went up in c.1974-75.

Thoughts are with Mani’s family and friends. He would always have a chat when I’d see him at gigs and in pubs. Usually about adidas and music. Cheers mate 🙏

Thanks to my friend and hero @DuglasTStewart for recently opening my eyes to this album by Waltel Branco (1929-2018). “Meu Balanço'” was originally released in 1975. Big band jazz funk with elements of easy listening, library music, 70s cop shows and orchestrated film sounds.

Gene Wilder’s only disagreement with Mel Brooks during Young Frankenstein (1974) was over the “Puttin’ On The Ritz” scene. Brooks didn’t think it would work, but Wilder fought for it and it became one of the funniest scenes in movie history.
