Last month after listening to a podcast with David Whyte, I decided to start spending time every morning memorizing a poem. It's been wonderful having these mantra like lines floating through my head throughout the day.

Another thought is that I want to help people read and write essays that feed the LLMs instead of essays that are fed by the LLMs.

Been reading some great books lately that have encouraged me to zoom way in for my upcoming writing project. Instead of traveling all around the state, I'll focus on one smallish area. Force myself to go deep and really notice and learn about the environment I'm in.

Sometimes you read things and can’t quite determine if you don’t agree with it or it’s just such a new idea you have to let it sink in first. This is one of those, and I love the feeling.

Useful rule of thumb for solving problems: Assume the problem is a side problem. The main problem is how you're viewing the problem. If you solve the main problem, the solution for the side problem often reveals itself.

Finished the first draft of a wandering 4000 word piece that will be the next in my 'Writing for' series. It's more personal, and the first time I've written about a trip with someone else. I'm not quite sure if it works, but we'll start with a lot of editing and see what's left.
