@HereThereBeCast Is also an awesome show that you need to check out while they are on their break. Ren is working at breakneck speed to make their new TTRPG for their game world and I have had the pleasure to try it out. It is a fun system that makes magic feel so story focused.

Very much looking forward to our next playtesting session, which is titled "Extreme Babysitting". The players will have to babysit a magical toddler who can't control his powers yet. This is going to be *very* fun. #ttrpg #indiettrpg

One good thing that's come out of our hiatus is that we have plenty of time to playtest our #rpg. We ran another session today and got some excellent feedback from the playtesters!

This thread perfectly encapsulates what we set out to achieve with our show. Each episode is highly edited and dialogue that doesn't serve the story is often cut. Table talk is kept to a bare minimum and there's no preamble. All this leads to a tighter and more engaging story!

Our first playtesting session went well! Huge thanks to the playtesters themselves and kudos for figuring out the plot twist 10 minutes into the session! (The plot twist itself was "be gay do crimes".)

We have our first playtesting session tomorrow! The players have some fantastic ideas and it's so rewarding to see what they do with character creation. We've been playtesting before now of course, but this is the first time we have outside help! #ttrpg #rpg

It's essentially a rap battle but if the homeowner loses then the Mari Lywd team enter the house and eat all their food.

Certain parts of our show are influenced by folklore. The undead horse in ep 1 was inspired by Mari Lywd, a tradition in South Wales. Participants carry a horse's skull attached to a white sheet mounted on a pole and request entry to houses through song. #FolkloreThursday

We want to replace the word GM in our rpg. We’re trying to avoid anything that suggests the players don’t have any agency when it comes to the narrative (like narrator or storyteller). What are some alternatives we could use? Preferably something that suggests collaboration.

When making our #rpg, we didn't realise how cool the different character creation options would sound when put together. We have a playtesting session this weekend and the party currently consists of a Descendant Primal Mage, a Blood-borne Battle Mage, and a Cursed Warlock.

We highly recommend this course! Two out of the three of us have taken it, it's how we got involved with @radioplatfform in the first place! (Did we mention it's entirely FREE?)
