In the early 2000s Expedia almost bought Booking for 30M€. The deal only fell through last minute because of a sudden (unrelated) drop of Expedia stock, which made Expedia’s board reluctant to go through with the acquisition. Today, Booking is worth $167B. Expedia is $27B.

The hook "AI just killed [X]" was all the rage 1-2 years ago. We probably got 500k-1M users from content creators using this hook, most of which for free after seeing how well it performed in other accounts.
