๐ธโจWhat a day of rock star math fun! ๐ธโจToday, we joined in the NSPCC Number Day and Times Table Rockstar Day, all our classes were rocking the maths skills! ๐ค๐กEveryone came dressed as their favourite rock stars and took part in a variety of exciting maths games!

Beech class had an amazing adventure at the National Railway Museum in York! We explored the fascinating steam engines and delved into their history, took part in an exciting quiz, got creative with some sketching, and imagined what life would be like without trains!

Oak class had an out-of-this-world time during our Space Day! We learned all about life on the International Space Station, and tasted the freeze-dried space food of strawberries, bananas, and even space ice cream. What a delicious way to end our cosmic adventure! ๐ โจ#SpaceDay

In Maple class, we have been diving into the fascinating mummification process! To bring it to life, we decided to mummify some fruit, just like the Ancient Egyptians did. Right now, weโve left our creations to dry out. Weโll keep you posted on our mummification experiment! ๐บ๐

This week, Rowan class had a delicious way to learn about ratios โ by making fruity Mocktails. ๐๐๐They mixed up a variety of juices, fruit, and flavours while practising their maths skills in the most refreshing way possible! The best part? Tasting their hard work at the end!

Sycamore had an amazing day in York on Tuesday! We kicked off at Clifford's Tower, diving into its history post-Anglo-Saxon era. Then, we visited the Jorvik Centre for a thrilling ride through Viking York, complete with robotic Vikings and authentic scents!

All classes took part in Diwali celebrations on Monday as we had a festival day in school. We enjoyed painting Diya lamps, making rangoli patterns, making and trying laddoos and learning special Hindu dances.

We have had a wonderful residential trip to East Barnby. Canoeing, rock climbing, seashore day and beck scrambling are some of the activities we have experienced. We have all learnt new skills and overcome challenges. Well done Year 6 you have all been superstars!

As part of our Anglo-Saxons topic, Sycamore have been working hard on designing & creating authentic shields from this period. Our work culminated in putting our shields to the test & forming competing shield-walls. The opposing sides engaged in challenges & it was lots of fun!

Maple Class had a fantastic time at Ryedale Folk Museum. We explored the museum & looked at our locality through time, before learning all about what life was like in the Iron Age. We looked inside an Iron Age roundhouse & saw farm animals that would've been on an Iron Age farm!

The whole school enjoyed their trip to All Saints Church to celebrate Harvest. Each class presented a piece of art & enjoyed listening to a poem & a Prayer by Alfie Richardson. We lifted the roof with our singing of the 'Harvest Samba', 'Cauliflowers Fluffy' & 'Autumn Days'.

The children in Silver Birch enjoyed using their imaginations to make different marks on paper in response to a variety of pieces of music including classical and jazz. We are looking forward to seeing their finished pieces soon!

Beech enjoyed starting their history topic.They worked together as a team to create their own castle,complete with crenelations along the top & arrow slits. Over the course of the topic they will investigate โWho was the greatest Queen?โ We look forward to seeing who they choose!
