I’m a huge advocate for reduction in hours but that means getting quality placements for StNs with appropriate learning opportunities. I know of some StNs who go the full course without going on a ward and do clinics or vice versa. StNs need exposure to quality over quantity.

2000 hours I can say absolutely should be cut to, but 1800, not enough as that would knock 2 full different placements off my course leading to less experience and exposure. Interested to hear other thoughts about this?

What do you think? 500 hours shorter. Yes, as a NQN, I believe 2300 is too much BUT if cutting by 500 hours, none of this should be simulation. As an NQN my practice was so important for non-textbook presentations of conditions as well as personal and professional development.

I’ve found it can be difficult to take myself out of student mode (quiet, scared to say the wrong thing, etc). I kept having to remind myself I am a RN now and I can be myself without fear of placement failings 🥹

First week went great until I caught a nasty stomach bug 😭 so I’ve been curled up feeling sorry for myself 🥴 but loved being back at it and the team are really nice 🥹.

Start my job in 2 weeks time. Currently worrying about uniform sizing as we all know the uniform sizes are either too small or too big and there's no in-between so its pure guess work 🤣

Another day of chasing up occupational health for my clearance and receiving no reply. Been a month since all my bloods etc was completed. Stuck in limbo with zero income 😓

Well, this happened today! Now just to wait for my NMC pin so I can start working as a Community RGN 🥹 ⭐️ I’ve wanted to give up so many times, and it felt like the universe wanted me too as well, but I kept plodding through and now I am so glad I did.
