Small businesses are the backbone of our communities. On Small Business Saturday, I am celebrating some of the wonderful businesses I visited and owners and entrepreneurs I met during my 107 Days book tour.

Lynda runs her own small business and pays for her own health care coverage, which is going up dramatically in price. This is just one of the many trickle-down effects of the Republican health care crisis. These cuts affect everybody.

Across the board, Illinoisans are seeing their health care costs skyrocket — even those who receive coverage through their employer, like Dave. Republicans' health care cuts will hurt nearly everyone in our community.
