Iowa + Steelers uniform lore mentioned.
Actually, Iowa copied Pittsburgh. In 1979, Iowa hired coach Hayden Fry who asked the Steelers for permission to overhaul the Hawkeyes’ image. He wanted Iowa to resemble a true winning team, & Pittsburgh had just won their 4th Super Bowl in 6 years
