Excited to attend #ACSCC25 in Chicago this October-a meaningful milestone as I pursue my FACS designation. Looking forward to learning, connecting, and growing alongside surgical leaders, mentors and colleagues in the ACS’s home city! #ACS #Chicago #Surgery #FACS.
For the first time in a decade, Clinical Congress will be held in our home city of Chicago!. Surgeons share why they are looking forward to coming to the Windy City for #ACSCC25 this October. Will we see you there? 👀🏙️. @emb7658 @sgkeswani @GWSurgChair @TimmermanGary

This highlights a critical gap. While FLS and FES are part of most programs, objectively assessing open and robotic skills remains a challenge, especially given unequal access to surgical technologies. Could programs create their own structured assessments? Possibly, but.
In a national survey, 89% of surgical program leaders believe technical skills should be part of board certification—but only 15% say current assessments are sufficient.

Always appreciate thoughtful conversations around the intersection of surgery, aesthetics, and patient well-being. Looking forward to this episode. Appreciate your continued efforts to elevate the field, Dr. Roth. #Podcast #SurgicalPodcast #PlasticSurgery #PatientCare.

As a surgeon I have seen what happens when unlicensed kids ride fast e-bikes on roads without knowing traffic rules or wearing helmets. E-bikes are here to stay. They are fun, but this growing trend needs a serious safety conversation. #EBikes #InjuryPrevention #EBikeSafety.
I hate to be old man shaking fist but these e-bikes that every suburban 13 year old boy fly around town on seem like a terrible idea.

The CHALLENGE trial reinforces what we have long suspected. Structured exercise after colon cancer treatment can save lives. It’s time to treat exercise as a core part of cancer care, not an afterthought. #CancerCare #ColonCancer #Exercise #ExerciseOncology #CancerSurvivorship.

100%. The scalpel follows where the mind leads. Clinical acumen shapes every cut. #Surgery #ClinicalJudgment #DecisionMaking.
Disagree. While technique in surgery is important, clinical knowledge & judgment might be more important. The eyes 👁️👁️ do NOT see what the mind 🧠 does NOT know.

Strong leadership and clear rationale from program directors! .#SurgEd #ABSITE #ABS #SurgicalTraining #JAMA.
@HassanRHashmiMD we agree. Sarosi GA, Spain DA, Johnson S. Elimination of the Percentile Score From the Surgical ABSITE—The Program Director Perspective. JAMA Surg. 2025;160(1):6–7. doi:10.1001/jamasurg.2024.4512.

As someone whose majority of ABSITE percentiles were in the 90s (92-99), I know test performance can open doors but it doesn’t define a complete surgeon. I fully support the move away from percentiles. It’s a win for surgical education. A resident’s growth should be measured.
The ABS is eliminating ABSITE percentiles. Why? Percentile scores are unstable, misleading, and never meant to guide promotions or fellowship decisions.
