I sadly think EVO will be skipped for me next year unless a a good number of things change. The negatives, very sadly, outweighed the positives for me. But I still do not regret going, The community alone is the only thing that kept me sane during this event. Love you guys <3

Top 8 was such a fantastic experience. Seeing Pixi get 2nd and chatting to Araett about the sets are huge motivation boosts. We are going to pretend they didn't spend 30 mins advertising a movie before top 8 though. (5/6)

EVO felt very off compared to other events I had been to. Saw some very poor Bracket running. Very few casual setups. Lack of English commentary. Granblue Stream being shafted after 2 waves of day 1 pools. it felt like mistakes that were made in the past were ignored here. (4/6)

Regardless, I still managed to go 2-2 in GBVS which given the state my brain was in, I am satisfied with that result. Were there sets I could've won if in different conditions? maybe? At the end of the day its just who's playing better, and my opponents played better. (3/6)

The venue itself was great, there was a lot to do, line up for and experience. That being said, its unlikely I will attempt to compete in an event that big ever again. Just a constant stream of loud noises made it so hard to concentrate on anything. (2/6)

Evo France Writeup: What an amazing weekend in easily one of the most drop dead gorgeous parts of the world. Met loads of great people and caught up with some that I had not seen for a while, that in of itself makes an event worth it. (1/6)

In early 2022, Luka and I restarted the smash/FGC local in Swansea after a 2 year hiatus called SMIB. We both graduated uni and left, but it's still going to this day. 3 years later in 2025, we have reunited once again as TOs for VSF 2025. @electronicdojo
