Sarah Clyne felt a chest pop, rushing to the ED, only to find her hospital unprepared for surgery. The Care Logistics Center transferred Sarah to Hartford Hospital within 2.5 hours. Facing a life-threatening aortic aneurysm, Dr. Ayyaz Ali and his team saved her just in time.

We're celebrating Vicie Brooks, the first Hartford Hospital Liaison Nurse and the first Black nurse to receive the Hartford Hospital Doris Armstrong Excellence in Nursing Leadership Award. She served as manager of Neurology, Trauma, ENT & Rehab Unit at the hospital for 15 years.

Despite a heart condition, North Haven High School teacher, Steve Bevins, continued high-intensity activities. Dr. Hashim performed a successful open-heart surgery for a bicuspid aortic valve on Steve. His resilience led to a remarkable recovery, walking just days after surgery.
