50 years ago my mom was a ballet dancer and a member of a high school club standing against overpopulation. She got saved in the Jesus Movement of the 1970s and went on to have 7 kids. 7/8

If you long for those things, you are less likely to find affirmation in secular cultures. But religious cultures will celebrate and applaud you for “being fruitful and multiplying.” 6/8

Religion gives explanation and motivation for both self-sacrifice (financial, career, of adult only fun) as well as hope for a heavenly future that overcomes the fear of bringing children into a broken world. 4/8
