I've been sweating away in the studio working on this kingfisher commission. Difficult to strike the right balance between welding for strength without burning the paint. So far so good.

I've been quiet as I've been out of the studio recovering from a torn retina. 3 operations & 4 months later I'm back. This capercaillie is almost finished for

next month. I hope I've still got followers!

Great Crested Newt. I've included a flash of yellow from the handles of a pair of tinsnips for the belly colour. Spots are bike spanners.

I've used metal ducting to give this earwig an articulated abdomen. He can look threatening with his callipers for pincers up or more friendly with then down.
Just about finished this great crested newt. I'm quite pleased with the balance to have one front foot up. I hope it's obvious it's hanging in the water not on tiptoes!

Here's a rubbish in studio video of three swift sculptures I made last year. Individual pieces but work well together. All old tools but sickles feature heavily! For

Puffin pair for a wedding present. Secateurs for their beaks. Hard work capturing puffin-ness without colour but pleased with them especially as they stand up without a base.
It's owl awareness day so here's a tawny in my studio. I've had 2 months off due to a retinal tear/detachment & face my third operation on Monday. I'm desperate to get back into the studio properly. Wish me luck!

The three sickle swift sculptures are just sat on the side while I get on with a bittern but they look rather nice together. Difficult to photograph but a mini video gives an idea of them.
Here's Mole grip Rhino, a small white rhino commission completed this week. I've enjoyed trying ti get the bulk and the attitude!

This chameleon sculpture was only finished an hour before the new owner arrived. It's to sit on a beam in their house so I've made it so one foot and the tail are below the rest to add movement.

This earwig sculpture 'Galloch' is available to buy. I've used ducting for the abdomen so it's slightly articulated. The pincers are callipers & the wing cases are tinsnips. £550. DM or email me off my website if interested.

Making progress with this green sea turtle commission. It's been tough constructing the shell, still much more to do but it's taking shape.
