A dark day for Azerbaijan. Baku Court for Grave Crimes issued prison sentences to 7 journalists:.1. Fərid Mehralızadə, Ülvi Həsənli, Sevinc Abbasova, Hafiz Babalı – 9 years.2. Məhəmməd Kekalov – 7 years 6 months.3. Nərgiz Absalamova and Elnarə Qasımova – 8 years.

3/3. The GD government is using this parliamentary investigative commission to crack down on opposition. They’ve jailed top opposition leaders Nika Melia and Zurab Girchi Japaridze for refusing to attend hearings. Ex-Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili was also imprisoned.
