I ran into one of the Buffalo Sabres in the elevator at the Prague hotel. They were in town to play the New Jersey Devils. He invited me to the game but I was performing that night.

Bar world content creators, can we please stop using strainers and such to open bottles? Just use the bottle opener. It’s much safer and lessens the chance of glass shards in bottle.

Had the pleasure to see John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers in the 80’s at the old Ritz. He was awesome and the show culminated with an appearance by Bluesbreakers alum and former Rolling Stone, Mick Taylor. They rocked a “Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’” to boot. RIP Mr. Mayall.

Dr. Brown’s ‘Cel-Ray’ soda is a mere shell of its former self. Practically no celery flavor in its current iteration. Might be time for a craft brand to make it happen. Keep me posted. I’ll help in the development stages.

Wings of Desire is a masterpiece. Extra credit for 80’s Nick Cave.

“While the true story of the cocktail has never been limited to sepia-toned reels of burly, mustachioed men who were part-barman, part-showman, its history―largely written by such men―was. 2

It was an honor and privilege to contribute to Nicola Nice’s groundbreaking book and ongoing project which directs the deserving spotlight on the importance, and mostly unheralded, contribution of women to the development and history of the cocktail.
